I am a Brazilian-Canadian documentary filmmaker and content designer based in Alberta, developing independent projects focused on people, culture, land and knowledge.
For more than two decades, I worked in Brazil creating audiovisual, multimedia and educational content, transforming complex information into clear and engaging visual stories
Today, I bring that experience into an independent documentary practice in Canada
My work combines research, interviews, filmmaking and visual communication to transform human stories and specialized knowledge into accessible and meaningful content.
My work with Cold Lake First Nations has developed through an ongoing collaboration with the Lands & Resources Department, combining documentary filmmaking, interviews, field production and digital communication.
Working with community members, staff, researchers and specialists, I document stories connected to the land, cultural knowledge, environmental research and stewardship.
The work goes beyond filming. I help organize complex information and transform interviews, research, field observations and technical material into clear visual narratives.
The collaboration includes documentary production, photography, content development, and creating digital platforms for the Lands & Resources Department and the Martineau River Ecological Corridor.

Fort McMurray: More Than You Think is a documentary series supported by TELUS STORYHIVE and hosted by Juliana Vilhena, exploring the community through the people who live, create, work and build their lives here.
Through personal conversations in everyday settings, the series offers an intimate, diverse portrait of Fort McMurray, exploring its culture, creativity, and community life.
The series brings together local voices from arts, education, entrepreneurship, sports and community life.
As director, I approach each episode as an opportunity to listen, letting people, places, and everyday moments shape the story.
With Season 1 now released and Season 2 in production, this portrait of Fort McMurray continues to grow through new guests, conversations and perspectives.
All 10 episodes are now available on TELUS Optik TV and Stream+, following their premiere on September 22, 2026.
The full season premieres on TELUS STORYHIVE’s YouTube channel on November 24, 2026.

Beneath Our Feet is an independent documentary project exploring Alberta through its landscapes, geological and archaeological histories, and the people who help us understand them.
The project brings scientific research into conversation with Indigenous knowledge and lived experiences, connecting the land we see today with the stories it holds.
The documentary follows questions into the field, where geology, archaeology and close observation reveal how the landscape has changed over time.
Ancient waterways, sediments and archaeological evidence become clues to millions of years of geological change and thousands of years of human history. Researchers and Knowledge Keepers bring different perspectives to this exploration.
Through field filming, interviews, image and sound, I bring these discoveries to the screen, making complex subjects accessible while leaving room for the people, experiences and unexpected moments that shape the journey.
The first episode is supported by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo through its Arts, Culture and Heritage grant program.

Dr. Robin Woywitka is an Associate Professor at MacEwan University and holds a PhD from the University of Alberta. He specializes in geomorphology, geospatial science and geoarchaeology, studying past landscapes and their connections to human history, including early human occupation in northern Alberta.

Kurtis Blaikie-Birkigt is a consulting archaeologist with an MA and more than 20 years of experience in Alberta’s boreal forest. His expertise includes archaeological survey methods, predictive modelling and cultural resource management. He provides technical and regulatory support to First Nations and other communities, alongside public education and training.

Eber Araújo is a geologist working with Fort McKay First Nation. He holds an MBA and has professional experience in Brazil and Canada, focusing on water, environmental impacts and communities affected by mining activities. In Beneath Our Feet, he brings this background to his role as host and field storyteller.

Jean L’Hommecourt is a Dene Knowledge Keeper and member of Fort McKay First Nation, with deep connections to the land and traditional knowledge of the region. A descendant of Treaty 8 signatory Chief Adam Boucher, she has worked in Traditional Land Use and community initiatives connecting land, culture and future generations.

Claudia Antunes is a Brazilian-Canadian documentary filmmaker and content designer with more than two decades of experience in audiovisual and multimedia production. Based in Alberta, she develops independent and collaborative projects connecting people, culture, land and knowledge through research, careful listening and visual storytelling.
New Music Paths is an independent series exploring contemporary music through interviews, performances and conversations with composers and musicians.
I contributed to the project by directing and producing art, shooting cinematography, handling post-production, and developing the visual identity, working alongside Marcelo Vilhena, Production Director, and Denis Nassar, Artistic Director and Music Producer.
The project became an important part of my creative development, expanding my understanding of music, rhythm and sound, and strengthening the musical sensitivity I now bring to documentary filmmaking.
The project is currently on hold, but its episodes remain available on YouTube for anyone interested in discovering new musical ideas and perspectives.
